Daily I Ching Hexagram Free from Tarot.com

Ahh when you think times would get better. Then this comes up, Oppression. Though reading it, I felt comfort and hope. I hope my dearest love will feel better too.

  Personal I Ching Hexagram:

47: Oppression

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012

General Meaning: The image of oppression conjures up a dried up lake bed with nettlesome crows stalking the shoreline. Hard times can shrivel our spirits, and give rise to a multitude of 'crows' in the form of troublesome worries. Times of great loss or personal failure break weaker people; but the strong of heart can bend with fate. To endure hard times — or even grow and benefit from them — it is essential to tap that deepest stratum of personal identity, that which is deeper even than fate, and which is incorruptible by even the harshest realities. It is essential, in other words, to tap the wellspring of human endurance: hope.

In a sense, there is no such thing as failure. There is only sweet and sour reality, and more is learned from the sour, oftentimes, than from the sweet. For failure, hard as it may be to swallow, opens the blinds to the real world, and reawakens the clarity of vision known only to those who have risked, and tasted, disappointment.

When in the throes of hard times, it is wise to be resolute and strong on the inside while remaining quietly cheerful on the outside. Avoid too much talking — except to your closest friends. Your words will have little effect on all others, since your influence will be at a low ebb — and the attempt to get across will only drain you of vital energy. Strong silence is the most skillful posture when facing the public during adversity; it shows that your inner core is strong enough to withstand the current troubles, and suggests that your recovery will be complete. At the same time, talking openly to those you trust is equally important, for in times of calamity, talking is an important part of healing.

Keep in mind that failure — the final taboo in modern society. But this is just one part of the inevitable cycle of life for those who dare to live fully and completely. Never to fail at all is to fail in the biggest way — avoiding risk altogether, you cannot help but fall far short of what might have been.

Book Shopping

Ahh, sometimes you just want to read a damn book. That being said there's so many pros and cons to book shopping. There are many different ways to shop for a book and their are pros and cons for all of them. For starters for the internet is huge and easy way to get books. You can also get access to Ebooks from nooks,kindles,e-readers and other device that you can reach the internet and have a decent memory storage. I'm not really a big ebook fan but my friend is and he maybe giving me some advice. I shall not be giving advice on something I'm not too acquainted to is just plain stupid.

First like most people who shop for books you need to decide what condition you want. Used or New. And if you decide to go for used, you need to decide how used. Meaning, Practically New/Mint, Very Good, Good, and Acceptable. Most sellers will write the damages of each book, meaning highlighed words, marks, underlining, rips, tears. Most will never sell you a book with loose pages or missing pages. Though they will sell you something with a damage spine. That being said most sellers are pretty fair about selling you the book in the stated condition. Though like all you take you chances. I usually purchase at Half.com or Amazon. There are tons of more sites that will have a marketplace set up as well. It's all up to you.

Second thing you need to think about is it really a deal? I've come to realize that there's a range for deals. Shipping costs is usually $3.99 - $8.00. Depending how fast you want it. So this is what you need to consider the good ol' $10 mark. If I'm buying a used book for 1.86 plus shipping which comes out around $7.00 You're saving money still by a few dollars. Though you're going to have to wait to read that book and of course it's most likely not in new condition.

Here's the thing if Barnes and Noble sell a book for $10.50 plus tax which comes out around $11.75, and it's new with no wear or tear. (Though it's hard to find a book that's like that since tons of people like to browse through books before they read.) I'd say you got a pretty good deal if compared to a used book bought online that's around $5.00 plus shipping $3.99 comes about $9.00 depending on how they tax the book which could raise the price more. And you have to wait for it to be delivered. Hoping nothing goes wrong with delivery and or the book is at it's said condition. So in that case going to your local Barnes & Noble or Borders book store actually might be worth it.

This also goes for multiple books when you buy online. Because some times (for me mostof the time) you might buy the books from multiple sellers. Which will charge $3.99 at least for shipping for each book. That being said if a book is more than $10 to $13 at the book store will the choice is obvious. That's if they have the book you want and they don't charge extra for sending it to the store for pick up. So that being said they're are many Pros and Cons to shopping. I might update with Ebook information when I ask my friend about his advice on Ebook's. Till then I hope this came out to be useful for whoever reads it.

New Layout

Ha it doesn't look like it changed much but I upgraded into XHTML. Which is a pain in the but to use because I like the CS2 look of the old school bloggers. Though I figure I need to keep up with the times. So I just basically edited the plainest blogger template I've seen and just tweaked it a bit, might tweak it some more who knows. Anyways the image of the feild is from Sugary-Stock from Deviant Art. I just photoshopped it a bit and added the blogs title. Well that's it for now, hopefully I get the nerve to blog more with something people don't mind reading about.

Ahhh Summer Mini-Vacation

I'm finally done with this semester. :)I'm glad because all this school is making me stressin! So right now I'm just looking on random internet sites that just make me laugh. My favorite being Senor Gif. OMG I'm obsessed with images. My notebook is full of random images ranging to interior design, fashion, fandoms, graphics, and crazy gifs about people doing acts of stupidity. I can't help it I'm a sucker for humor. I think on this break I'm going to concentrate on health, reading, and writing. Okay maybe hobbies. I actually plan on finishing a story and a fan fiction this summer. I have the worst habit of not finishing stories even though it's all outlined in my head.

I know I'm not the only one with this problem! Half the stories I totally like to read in up the same way. Almost near the end never completed. >_>.

I guess that's it for now. Since Schools out probably expect some more posts sometime soon. Maybe images.

Blah Again

Yes, once again I slacked off in my blog. Oh well a diary is hard to keep.
Lately I've been busy with school Of course, college. The failing economy is the only thing driving me sometimes. Because at other times I feel exhausted. School with only a month off out of a year.

Lately I've been playing Shin Megami and Sims 2 hahah I love those two games. I don't think I'll every stop.

I've been collecting images mostly wedding dresses and interior design.

Though it sucks I worry, because my Boyfriend and I have totally different taste. Blah he like everything to be Black and Red and I enjoy colors. I can see why any male wouldn't like certain things. But alas he's paying for rent.:p

Anyways I'll be posting up things that inspire me.

For now I had this for a while. I think it's a bit dark but the collage is awesome I love the vintage touch with the chair and blanket.
